That’s really so incredibly horrifying. The whole thing. Apparently they have similar educational division in Germany.
Really, Australia is fairly decent in that most people have the opportunity to succeed, even though we are pretty lax when it comes to study.
It’s just so gross that there is this kind of mentality in people. If everyone took tips from Finland, where teachers all have masters degrees, and all schools are equal in terms of funding and pricing and curriculum, it would be far better for education everywhere. Apparently they have the world’s highest standards of average education.
I’m not completely against division in schools, I belive there should be academically, sporting, and performing arts selective schools, but that’s probably only because in Australia, students from those schools come out with the same qualifications as other students at local high schools had the potential to obtain. Division shouldn’t mean you are systematically disadvantaged.
